Modern Slavery

Introduction from the Chief Executive Officer

The Hakim Group, are committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking in our
business and supply chain. We do not knowingly work with any organisation or individual who engages in,
or permits to be engaged in, any modern slavery, human trafficking or similar exploitation in any part of our
business.

As we look toward the future and the continued complexities of global supply chain, we will soon be asking
all of our suppliers and prospective suppliers to positively confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery
or human trafficking and themselves take steps to ensure that their own suppliers do not engage in these
activities.

Organisation’s structure

We are a provider of optical, ophthalmological and audiological services and retail sale of spectacles,
contact lenses, hearing aids and complimentary products. We ·operate across the British Isles, including
the Republic of Ireland and operate with a global supply chain to support our subsidiary businesses.
For the purposes of section 54 the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are required to make a Modern Slavery
Statement.

Our business

Our business is organised into a joint-venture model, with practices providing the above described services
across the geographies in which we operate owned either by the Hakim Group, or jointly with our local
partners.

Our supply chains

Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, manufacturers and wholesalers of optical,
ophthalmological and audiological products and services, together with suppliers of generic business
support products and services. We work with a wide range of suppliers based in a variety of countries, from
time-to-time.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We do not support the use of slavery, exploitative labour or human trafficking and endeavour to ensure that
we do not work with any organisation or individual which does not share our values.

As part of our plan for 2025, our dedicated Buying team will be taking steps to undertake due diligence
across our supply chain and asking our suppliers to provide copies of or adopt appropriate policies in
relation to:

  • Modern Slavery;
  • Ethical factory audits; and
  • Environmental, Social and Governance.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our
Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2024.

It was approved by the board of directors of the Company on 04 February 2025.
